Selling Your Gold To Toner Jewelry

How Much is my Gold Jewelry Really Worth?

Engagement RingsGold and silver prices continue to rise. We are often asked how much higher will it go? Wish we could say, but we could never predict. Even though the prices have continued to rise, they do so in an up and down pattern, not in a straight line. If you are holding on to old jewelry, coins, sterling flatware and even gold fillings you should watch the market and decide when the time is right for you to sell.

Remember, at Toner Jewelry, we have been buying for over 30 years. We have always been very fair in the market and will continue to be here for all metal sellers and jewelry buyers.

Selling Silver Coins

As the price of silver continues to climb, some of you may be thinking of selling the silver coins you have accumulated. The dates on the coins are very important as they determine the silver content. The following dates are what you should keep in mind:

  • Dimes, Quarters & Halves – 1964 & before
  • Silver Dollars – 1935 & before
  • Clad Halves 1965 – 1970

Toner Jewelry buys coins and gold daily. We'll will gladly give you a free quote based on the current price for the day. No appointment ever necessary.

Confused About Gold Prices

For a quick lesson, it pays to know that gold qualified as a troy ounce 24-karate is pure gold. What is a troy ounce, you might ask? A troy ounce of gold is 31.1 grams. When gold weighs in at less than 24-karat, proportionate discounts come into play. For example, 18-karat gold is 75% pure gold. 14-karat gold is 58.3% pure gold, and 10-karat gold is 41.7% pure gold. A karat stamp is given to gold jewelry of 10 karats or more. Essentially, if you have some former wedding band hiding in your jewelry box and finally want to know what your ex-spouse might be worth, take it to a local jeweler and have the experts there give you a quote.
